It's a long story. Here's my problem. Went in to Jennie Edmundson hospital for a total hip replacement. The wife is the one that would be my caregiver once we got home. She was not allowed to come back with me as they prepped me. She never talked to the doctor or anyone to find out how the day would progress. I was given a shot in the back for pain management and to put me to sleep. It was supposed to last for hours. I woke up bright and alert moments after being wheeled into recovery. The nurse that was there seemed dumbfounded. I was in a lot of pain. I got nothing while I waited for my room, WIDE AWAKE AND IN PAIN!!! I got to my room finally and received pain meds. Did not help! All the rest of that day and through the night, I had no relief from the pain. They kept saying this is what the doctor ordered. Sometime in the morning, the upped the dose slightly, which seemed to help. I did not sleep all that night. I was told to bring my CPAP machine in, which I did. Apparently, the patient who is fighting pain and mental anguish is supposed to tell them that!!! They didn't ask about it, and It was not used. They offered nothing in the way of drink or food. Furthermore, they never checked or changed my bandage. Maybe they weren't supposed to, but it seems like they should have. All through the night, I kept hearing this beeping noise. I called the nurse, and it was the machine that was my IV. She reset it or whatever. At some point, it was beeping again. THEY NEVER CAME IN TO CHECK ME!!! I noticed that my IV tube had blood going UP INTO THE TUBE toward the IV bag!!! Machine was beeping away!!! Called the nurse, and she did something to get it going again. I have had several hospital stays, and they were annoying as hell because the nurses would come check me CONSTANTLY!!! Not this time! They said they were understaffed. Not my problem!!! They apparently got tired of my complaining because one "nurse" Jen even screamed at me and mentioned something about passing a watermelon through my penis!! She was bent over pointing her finger at me and just screaming!!! It was so loud that a crowd of people gathered at my door, gawking at me!!! Later, when the same "nurse" came in with my meds, she had a nasty smirk on her face and didn't even apologize!!! I started throwing trash in the corner from my bed side table just to have room to put a food tray on it or make room for water to drink. I raised hell with the hospital, and they apologized and said they did all that they can. That is not going to cut it. I figure if they have to open their wallet, someone will know how I was treated. I refuse to let this abuse slid. I need legal help, I guess. Thanx, Gregg
